Would you need to direct me when I record my voice for your project, because you need something very specific, for a commercial for example?
It’s very possible, and there are several ways to have a live session.
1-By SKYPE
We’ll be in touch via Skype. (If you don’t have it, it’s free.) Not only can we talk via Skype, but you can hear my recording directly via my studio microphone. And I’ve even got the equipment to let you hear the recordings again (playback), which Skype alone wouldn’t allow.
It is also possible to use software such as Zoom, if you prefer.
2-By phone, via my PHONE PATCH
During the recording session, you speak to me via your telephone. You hear the recordings I make in the studio via my microphone, and you can also listen to them again (playback). That said, the phone patch is an old technology. As far as I’m concerned, I use my Skype more as a phone patch, because I have the mixers and consoles to let you hear the recordings again, if you wish. So I can either call you on your phone or Skype, as mentioned above.
3-Via SOURCE-CONNECT (alternative to ISDN)
If you have a professional studio, you’ve probably already made remote recordings using Source-Connect software. For my part, my studio is Source-Connect certified, which means that if you also have Source-Connect, you’ll be able to record me remotely, via your studio, as if I were there!
(Note that it is also possible to use other alternatives to Source Connect, such as ipDTL.)
And of course, if you don’t need to have a live recording session, as is the case most of the time, you send me your texts and I record everything on my own, quite simply!
